E - Safety Guidance

The internet is amazing. Children can play, learn, create and connect - opening up a whole world of exciting possibilities. But with the digital world changing all the time, how can we make sure your child's staying safe?

Online Safety

Online safety / e-safety is a term which means not only the internet but other ways in which young people communicate using electronic media, e.g. mobile phones. It means ensuring that children and young people are protected from harm and supported to achieve the maximum benefit from new and developing technologies without risk to themselves or others.

The aim of promoting e-safety is to protect young people from the adverse consequences of access or use of electronic media, including from bullying, inappropriate sexualised behaviour or exploitation.

In many areas, technology is transforming the way that schools teach and that children learn. At home, technology is changing the way children live and the activities in which they choose to partake; these trends are set to continue.

There is a whole range of e-safety advice available on the internet - a few links are below

Internet use

As part of Inkberrow Primary School's curriculum we offer access to the internet, the global network of computers.

Much of the access to the internet is by the teacher, adult demonstrations, supervised access to online material or hyperlinks for specific sites. Internet access is granted to students after a suitable education in internet safety.

Please read and discuss these e-safety rules with your child by clicking the link below.
